The value of original art in your home
“When you purchase a piece of original art there is no one else in the world who has one exactly like yours”.
What a week, my website has been live for a couple of days now and as I’ve been preparing paintings to go off to their new homes, it’s made me think….what value does having original art in your home give you?
In an age of mass production and consumption, there is very little I can point out around my home that is original and exclusively unique. I have a love of ceramics, handmade and original sure, but not necessarily unique. But art is unique, a tactile object with brushstrokes, layers and splashes. When you purchase a piece of original art there is no one else in the world who has one exactly like yours. Even if I was to try my hardest, I could never duplicate a painting again. That’s it, there’s only one.
This piece of original unique art says just as much about you as it does the artist. A real talking point in your home, it shows your taste, what you can see in something or better yet, what you can feel. What brings you joy and wow can art bring joy!
As an emerging artist the value of my work may increase over time, who knows, what I do know is that if you’ve started to collect original art in your home the value that painting will bring you, could be more than you expect.
